Discover Your Passion
For Roller Skating in the Heart of the North!
Red Rose Rollers Artistic Roller-Skating Club was born when a few friends got together at a skating venue in the North.
Paula, Connie and Bill are the founder members of the club which has grown and flourished throughout the years. We discussed the lack of affordable skating for all in the area.
We firstly hired Darwen Sports Centre sports hall and eventually we were spotted by the locals. The club grew.
In 2002 we affiliated to FARS as our Governing body and started to compete at competitions throughout the country.
A few years later, we moved to Turton and Smithills Sports centres. The disco was formed. The founder members contributed to this success as skates were sourced and funded by ourselves.
The club developed over the years and promised to develop our youth to become confident to progress to coaching themselves.
The following qualified as Coaches whilst at Red Rose Roller Skating:
Danielle Thorpe
Eloise Clarkson
Phoebe McQueen
Junior Coaches added in 2023 are:
Naimh Greenan
Jenni Gilligan
Jack Openshaw
We take pride with investing in young people and have also contributed to many others in Duke of Edinburgh involvement.
